Week 2

Wow! The great graphic programs I worked with last week are filling my head with all sorts of ideas! But how to use them in the classroom is what I am trying to figure out.
I'm excited about playing with the online documents! We have a problem with students bringing in flashdrives from home. They need to be scanned if they have a virus. Some students don't always see the need for the scan. The teachers at Peace do we did have a virus almost wipe out our system and it was brought in on a disk (yes, a disk, it was a while ago) If the students used an online document, they could access it from home and school.

Good luck with the application of the graphics programs to your classroom. I think that the students would enjoy it very much. I concur about the promise of online documents. I am hoping that I will be able to use these tools in my current non-teaching profession. I hate having to email documents home and then back again. Being able to finish some of my assignments while on vacation in a foreign country has really shown me one tremendous advantage of all of this "cloud" stuff.

Shelly, I agree that it is easy to get excited when we are shown and work with new programs. I think, "How can I use this right now?" Then I settle down and tell myself just to be patient and get it in at the right time and make sure I know how to use it first so that the students get what they need to get out of it.
